RWD SR for New York winters/long highway commute

Hey guys I was looking into getting a Model 3 SR. Originally I wanted a LR AWD but it’s just a bit out of my comfortable price range. Right now I drive a Toyota 4Runner 4WD. My only reluctance to getting a RWD vehicle is how it handles in snow/rain. I have a 70 mile round trip highway commute to get the hospital. I work 3 days a week. In general I would say Long Island does a decent job of having the roads plowed but you never know.

Having said that do you think the RWD+good winter rated tires would be enough to handle the trip? I mean generally we get some decent snow but not a TON I’d say.

What do you guys advise? For the 18 inch wheels what’s a good tire to look out for?

Just bought winter tires and wheels from Tire Rack for my 2021 Tesla 3 SR+. They were 18x8.5 MSW Type 73 GLS GREY wheels, TPS sensors and 235/45R-18 Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 XL tires. Order Total: $1,881.70View attachment 750618
If the OP is okay with ignoring the TPMS sign on their display then they can knock off $440 + tax off that price.

Picking up at their Delaware location near southern NJ is another ~$200 in combined shipping and tax savings
