Sales Tax on FSD or add-ons after delivery?

Just curious if you add FSD or any of the adds after delivery is there sales tax? Or is there sales tax only if there is a Tesla Store in your state like other internet purchases?

Yes. You pay FSD sales tax either pre-delivery or post-deliveries.

In theory, some argue that it's only a software purchase so it should not be taxed. Good luck with that!

Just like any other car, tax is on the bottom line. If don't want to pay it, then you can order later for even more.

Didn’t want to start a new thread but I had a question. If I decide to add the FSD down the road(Year or two) does it get tacked onto the car loan or do I get charged the 8k on the card that is on file?

It gets charged onto the card on file. The car loan people have already established the terms/amount of the loan by the time you sign at the lot.

I’ve read that Tesla May do a subscription for the FSD. Just like a loan, you pay for the 6 years. This could entice people getting it.

Yes, but at the end of the six years, do you own it forever? A subscription is usually where you pay forever, for as long as you want the service.

Perhaps. Who knows how it is going to work. We can only speculate. You may sign a contract that says you own it outright after 6 years or do a month-month deal.
