Hello community.
I recently got winter tyres for my 2023 Model Y. Even though I chose the exact same dimensions as the summer tyres, the wheel‘s rim now protrudes the tyre wall (not the case on the original summer tyres).
Dimensions: 255/45 R19
Wheels summer 19“ Tesla model Y 2023 (silver)
Wheels winter 19“ Tesla model Y early 2022 (they got a black powder coat).
See pics attached.
I’d like to understand why that’s the case. I assumed that choosing the same dimensions will give me the same result. Is this the result of my tyre choice Or did Tesla change the 19“ wheels?
I went for the cheapest option available and ended up giving our family car a quite sporty look just need to be extra careful not hitting the curb….
