We're going through 200 tomorrow. Bet on it.

I am.

So I lost my lunch today thinking that yesterdays drop would keep into today. I kept the calls for way longer than I should have waiting on the FOMC minutes to affect the market when I should have dropped them this morning. To make up for it I'm grabbing some June 06 220 calls for, hopefully, a push through 200 tomorrow.

Good luck with your options trading. I have done these weekly trades for a while and it is all about luck with timing. I have had some extremely successful trades, but in the grand scheme of things I would guess that I probably broke even; maybe made a little, maybe lost a little.

Let us know how your short term trading turns out over the long run. I think that it is really hard to make money this way, so now I sell weekly and monthly calls instead of buying them. I am now the market maker/casino/house and the person buying them from me is the gambler.

House always wins...

I think it's just an exercise in restraint. Had I not panicked a little Tuesday I'd be fantastic. The trend is up, even for just weekly movement, so calls will be safer in the end.

I'm up around 100% atm with post ER play money. But that doesn't really mean anything since I can just lose it all tomorrow with a -2% move.

So far what I've learned is that I can understand TSLA's movements fairly well, but since it gets tracked along with the rest of the market with no news, I have to learn about events for the overall market. Who the big opinions are, what the calendar is, etc.

These things are easy with TSLA thanks to this board. There are a lot of well educated, well informed, and well meaning people here. I haven't found something similar for anything else.

We have a couple of events that could present some catalyst on the upside. Investor meeting on June 3rd, and the first HRD presented in the UK by Mr. Musk on June 7th. My guess is there will be very positive news from 1 or both of those events, and the upswing will continue. Panasonic has been quiet because they want to ensure demand is there before such a large financial commitment (I lived in Japan for 3 years, totally in their culture to not take a big risk upfront), and the visible increase in demand is the best way to ease their concerns.

Yeah, there is no doubt the next few months will be exciting. Everything is pointing to a big move on the upside. I can't really think of anything to play devils advocate with that would throw a wrench into things other than the market overall taking a ****.

TSLA specific news, events, and potential catalysts are pretty easy to follow, especially with all of the great contributors here on TMC. But I follow macroeconomic news around the globe very closely, and it is impossible to tell which way the market will go the next day. When something big does happen in macro, it always happens outside of trading hours, which means that you will not be able to cash out your options before incurring a big loss.

Yeah. I think day trading would be the way to go. Only exposing yourself to risk during trading hours. Sadly since I'm just using a small amount of money that's not an option.

I can still just limit myself in small windows centered around known TSLA catalysts. But that's no fun.

This would be a great problem for the crew at Tesla Motors to resolve.
I don't know if you remember but musk immediately offered help and even told them where they went wrong in design. They refused all assistance claiming ge partner would help. They studied the issue for a month before making recs. remember space x is a direct competitor and with recent aggressive attempt to get air force contract for launches they will not want to give musk any positive press, even if it were in their interests

Chicken,

I completely agree. Elon and JB could fix it though.
