Should I trade in my M3? [April 2022]

So KBB private sale values do not currently look like BS to me based on what I have seen for similar cars at used car dealers. I also checked Edmunds, which was even higher. The used car market is very strange right now with used car dealers still asking way too much in an attempt to not lose money on vehicles they bought over the summer and early fall.
KBB values are based on recent but past advertised asking prices, not current actual sales prices. The actual sales prices at a dealer are much less than the asking prices but KBB has no way to track those especially in a quickly declining market. Asking prices are always still quite a bit higher than the sales prices because dealers also take trades and they profit on the trade and show a higher trade value
