Side mirror not fully opening when cold

Anyone else with this issue? I’m not in a freezing snow climate but it can go down to 32 on occasion. This morning was 37 and one side mirror struggles to fully open when unlocking the car and then kind of stays in a limp inbetween state. Folding and unfolding from the screen doesn’t fix it. Seems to go away when things heat up. Just started doing this after three years.

One of the suggestions of the local clubs here to all new owners / members is to disable auto-folding in the winter. You might have a little bit of moisture in there that froze after you folded the mirrors. They will then be hard to unfold.

We have the same situation with our 2018 Model X. Only thing is the temperature is never cold enough to freeze water. It’s almost as if the tolerances in the gearing is sloppy and when cold the teeth and not able to make contact. This has been happening for a couple of years, as soon as it warms up it works as it should again.
