Site suggestion: create a "real" wiki

It looks like the wiki pages that are currently in place are simply forum threads that anyone can edit. Have you considered, or could I suggest creating a separate (though connected) space that is a more "official" wiki?

It would still be something that anyone could edit, but it would have some organization and structure, as well as things like tracking out of date pages, having suggested/requested pages, etc.. and it would allow for a place that could be linked to/from for more details on a subject (which, to be fair, the current space does allow for, but it's hard to find things there)

Thoughts?

Wiki topics that you see now were created under the previous forum software. Currently, users can't create wiki topics anymore. It would be nice to have that functionality back. For example, if you look at the following prediction topic, data about the entries like the average, number of entries etc could have been posted in the opening message. But instead, somebody had to create a Google spreadsheet and post a link to that file. Then users had to open that file and check the data. However, the link to the Google spreadsheet was somewhere in the middle of the thread, not easy to find. When topics get longer, links have to be re-posted. Most users are not even aware there is a Google sheet. The same problem happens in countless other topics.

Another feature that would help would be the ability to edit opening messages of threads that you have started.
