Smoke or Heat detector in the garage

What is the latest verdict on the idea of installing a smoke detector in the garage? How about a heat detector?

I have wondered also. With an ICE car doesn’t make work but if all electric seems like a good thing to do.

I've got the Google/Nest units through the house. The nice thing is that I can monitor them with the app and if any one of them is triggered, they all alert me by telling me which room has the smoke.

I have a heat detector but will switch to smoke/co.

if you use your garage to weld, braze, grind, cut, fabricate things, park ice vehicles in, store non battery powered lawn equipment; i think you will have a lot false alarms. now if you use your garage as a living space extension you will probably be fine.
i use my garage as the first.

Smoke alarm will also work if he only owns electric vehicles and uses his garage as a garage.
