There is nothing wrong with that. Legal is a part of an automotive manufacturer. I would be hard pressed to find a dealer of any kind that would install an aftermarket part on a vehicle before technically taking ownership.

Just have it installed by whoever installed your Lotus spacer.

Did you have any luck installing the extender? There are a few videos online where the change the steering wheel on the M3 and disconnect the airbag. I think you may have to pull the 12V battery.

It looks like teslas share the same steering wheel dimensions, so if you get something to work I would love to see see if i can install on my M3. I could use another 2-6 inches of steering extension myself with the seat all the way back.

Also it looks like the someone is working on modifying the main display screen bracket to allow for different positions. I'm hoping for the screen to be 4 inches closer to the driver
