Stereo ticking noise

Just picked up my car. Halfway through drive home the music dropped out and the stereo started making an echo chamber ticking noise almost as if it was calibrating surround sound zones

This started after I was messing with the two steering wheel knobs trying to see “what does this do” because I was being stupid...

I couldn’t figure out anyway to stop it but it was volume controllable.

Pulled over... no result.

Got out of car and walked into a shop and the got back in a few minutes later and I had music back.

Theories?

Call service or just realize I found a QA test mode and try not to repeat that key press again?

I've had this bug before. Hold the buttons the steering for a restart if you're currently driving. The ol'turn it off and on again fixes it.

I’ve had that happen a couple times - press the left scroll wheel in to pause or silence the music, then press again and it should be fixed.
