Stock 19's All season Tires

So, we had our first snow/ice this past week in Minnesota. I am driving a P3D- on 19s stock all season tires. I feel the handling and performance is lacking with snow (less than 1 inch), and sleet/ice mixture. The model 3 lost traction quite a few times driving through snow (I live in MN, and it handled worse than my Honda Pilot). Any suggestions?

Why do you think so many people are buying a spare set of the factory 18 inch wheels and putting snow tires on them?
