Construction now started in Hudsonville, MI (near Grand Rapids-I had to look it up). Maybe they'll head north next... Anybody in the Escanaba area that can take a ride by Meijer's and see if there is any activity?

My sister said nothing yet. She lives there.

Construction of Supercharger has started at the Meijer in Swartz Creek, Mi. That is right off I-69 near Flint.

That makes three Supercharges (Hudsonville, Clare, & Swartz Creek) under construction in Michigan right now. Yippee !

Escanaba should be very soon.

I want to get past Houghton from near Green Bay, will have to run some routing and see if this makes it work or is too far east out of the way.

Talked to someone at Meijer today. Was told construction to start in 4 weeks and takes 6 weeks to complete, but "could take longer".

This means construction will start in 4 months and be done in 2 years but could take 10 years. ‍

Just watch; Marquette will be finished before Esky.

I grew up in Esky. Nothing happens quickly.

So is this a pic of the chargers already stubbed in? Looks to me like the work has been done and they just need to install the hardware. I see two pics here. One is the car facing a parking lot, the second looks like the supercharger area with a digger there.

I drove through the parking lot this afternoon. No activity... Looks like we'll be lucky to have it operational by Labor Day.

It has been over 2 weeks since someone was able to report. Any with an update? This location would make UP trips for me a lot easier!

I drove through Escanaba today and was going to check it out, but the street to Meijer's off US-2 (3rd Ave.) was closed and all torn up and I didn't have time to detour around to get there. With the street construction, I can think of two possibilities:
1. Tesla knew about the upcoming street construction and was waiting for that to start to run the lines to the chargers while the street was torn up.
2. Tesla didn't know about the construction and now that will delay the project even more.
Of course, neither might be true, but I hope for #1 and expect #2...

Drove through today. No signs of construction yet on this supercharger site. Maybe when it does arrive it will be a V3?

FYI, for anyone driving through L'Anse, they now have a dual 6.6 kW ChargePoint unit in their city park that costs $0.15/kWh. It's also listed on PlugShare.

Please check in and also post on the yooper Facebook group so they can see its being utilized. They have their doubts.
