As I stated earlier, just go in the back gate. If you have to wait until someone comes out, or for a delivery vehicle to come in, then follow them through. It was no problem for me. Plus, the Supercharger is just inside that gate, to the left.

We were in Estes Park last weekend. While we successfully charged without any problem back in May (by unknowingly taking the non-security gate entrance), we just avoided trying to charge there this trip since we didn't want the hassle. We ended up charging in Boulder on our way home.

I think people should call Tesla to complain.. They spent lots of money and time installing a SuperCharger and if people are going to avoid it that time and money could have been better spent at other locations.

According to the president of the Denver Tesla Club, they have spoken with the Stanley Hotel and Teslas no longer have to pay to access the Superchargers.

Sadly, Estes Park is not unique in this regard.

I have been to some chargers in parking garages like that, but the staff stamped the parking ticket so it was free on leaving.

Actually Estes Park is (was!) unique in this regard because they were the only pay to park supercharger that wasn't in an urban core.

I was able to use the charger last week without issue. Told the guard I was going to charge and he let me right through.

^ Checkins at plugshare.com suggest the the Estes Park Supercharger Station is working fine, up to 145 kW. A June checkin said that the parking attendants are still letting Teslas in for free. It is one of the prettier Supercharger Stations, as you have likely seen from pictures.

Worked fine for me in early June. They waved me on through at the guard station without paying. It’s tucked at the back and no real directions there. Just zoom in on the on-screen map and meander your way through the maze of parking lots until you get there.

If you take the road around the southwest part of the property, you can drive right to the Supercharger. We charged there in May before it was officially open and never even saw the guard and gate. We drove right to the Supercharger and charged, no problems.

Sounds like the guard is misinformed or trying make a few extra dollars on the side. I would call the hotel to report it.

Since I first posted this in 2018, we've sometimes seen the gate is down just before turning left, shortly before the Superchargers. The last couple of times we've gone, we've just used the regular entrance and security let us in without having to pay.

Hey, did you ever take old Fall River road ? Are Tesla’s able to make it to kremmling from estes park with no issues?

Well, I did the other direction without a problem. It's only 87 miles. Granted you gain 5,000 feet over Trail Ridge Road, but you get it all back.
