Supercharger - Lake Charles, LA - 1758 W Prien Lake Rd

Hot on the heels of Marco’s find at the resort, another Supercharger coming to Lake Charles. While this is close by to the existing Supercharger, this will likely be another site since it is a different address. Looks like Koko Ramen parking lot which seems small. But could be infrastructure there and chargers to the north. We will see when they start digging. They might be able to get really close to the OG site.

I saw this a few days ago, it’s at the same spot as the original Lake Charles Supercharger and less than a mile away from the chargers at the Casino. This is also the same name on the dig permit that labeled the Rivian chargers in Baton Rouge as Tesla.

I stopped by but instead of a Supercharger site I found these Rivian chargers completed but not yet activated.

Those cabinets look to be the same size as Tesla. Maybe they are building for Rivian?

The covers over the chargers appear to be higher on the front and slope down to the back. Tesla covers are more or less flat.

I was referring to the actual charging cabinets, not the posts. Rivian would obviously want the public interface to be unique but the backend doesn’t need to be fancy.

I was going to stop by here this evening as I was passing through, but it was late and this one is best studied in daylight. It's possible that a Tesla site will go in here yet. If you visit, look a) for the utility transformer (large green or grey cube), and b) for signs of an adjacent Tesla site. They could even be sharing one large transformer.
