Megapack is the largest battery system that Tesla sells they can integrate it with the Superchargers so help reduce the peak energy charges that Tesla would get depending on how popular the site is.

To add a little more to that see the graphic below. SCE has Time of Use rates and most Tesla Supercharger installs fall into the TOU-EV-9 rate schedule. If Tesla is able to manage their power by charging their Megapack during offpeak hours and then discharging the Megapack when cars are charging during the most expensive time frame they are able to save substantially in electricity cost.

This image below is the Tariff and I am just highlighting that Tesla services are under 2kV (Typically 480V) and that the on-peak generation charges are substantial compared to the mid and off peak.

In the future that will be the case but for now TOU-EV-9 for SCE does not contain a demand charge. Once this commences I am sure much more Megapacks will be installed where there are just the pads in place.

Oops my bad. Thought 20 on 1 site and 2 for the handicap area. Btw, how’s 2 the handicap spots work? Only people with the blue or red handicap hanging can charge there and they can park at these 2 spots after full without the idle fees?

I went by on 7/10. Teslas would pull up every few minutes. Try plugging in and it was a no go. The Tesla cabinets where still covered up. Transformer is in.

I went there last night as well to check it out. Confirm no power yet. Look like they are waiting the ok from either city and SCE or both.
