75% of electricity in Texas is produced by natural gas

pedantic I know, but I'm going to dispute this figure. This is what the Comptroller's Office said (albeit for 2019)

...and I was surprised at that because I thought wind at somewhere around 28% was the largest source of electricity generation in Texas


I still shake my head when I see that Solar is a mere 1.1% ... in TEXAS ffs

Thanks for the chart. I'm surprised wind is so high and equal to coal. I've lived in Texas most of my life and I've never seen a single windmill. I'm also confounded about solar only being 1.1% also. I know PV is getting better, but still struggles, but I wonder what would happen if some insane billionnaire spent a billion setting up an entire city-sized solar solar/battery farm and just sold it.
