Does anyone have information about when Tesla will offer insurance in states beyond California? I ordered my Model Y and want to consider Tesla’s insurance in North Carolina. Thanks
Why would anyone use Tesla for insurance?
Their rates are higher than average and if the customer service is anything like the automobile arm then it’s a lose/lose proposition for the consumer.
I would stick to the insurance professionals.
edit: the program has not rolled out nationwide because they simply cannot support it. If that’s any indication.
They are like all insurance companies, depending on your location and driving record the price may be higher or lower that other insurance companies. There are tons of posts on this forum of people saving lots of money going with Tesla insurance and bunch of others where Tesla insurance was more than other providers.

The rates I've heard so far are from USAA. One of my team members bought a new Tesla 3 standard+ and he is paying like $720/year. Obviously, not everyone can be part of USAA, but worth checking into if you can.
