    Jeremy Snyder said that owners should have an e-mail in their in boxes tomorrow verifying that they have started the program.

    Looking at the details, you'll pay about $72,000 for the 3 year lease. No details were given on the purchase option. Seems pretty high, IMO, to have nothing to show for your $72k on month 37.

    Wow. Anyone want to lease my Roadster for a year? I'll take those terms.

    (If you'd take the other side of the trade ... well, ya know)

    But what a great write off for a business expense!!!! That is where leasing make sense.

    Anyone have any info if this leasing/financing option may become available in Canada? So far we have no options here like that. Thx....

    I got the e-mail about the lease today. I excitedly told my wife I could lease a Roadster for only five times what our previous car payments were.

    She gave me that look.

    Naturally $1,658/month sounds crazy ... (plus the $10,795 down) ... then again, BMW is getting $850/month for the Mini-E, right ? (And what's the downpayment for that one ?)

    According to Tesla's website - Tesla Motors - Lease a Roadster

    You have the ability to purchase the Roadster after your lease. If you don't want the Roadster :)eek:) post-lease you can give it back to Tesla, I'm not sure how much of a "fee" this entails. According to AutoBlogGreen it's $45,603 to buy the Roadster post-lease.

    Some of the fine print:
    Looks like they also charge you a quarter for every mile over 30,000 as well:

    So ...

    $ 9,900 Principal Down
    $ 895 Acquisition Fee
    $ 59,688 (36months)
    $ 45,603
    ----------
    $116,086 Total

    Not too bad if you intend to purchase (compared to $111,005).

    But VERY expensive if you turn it back in after $70,833 ( including $350 "disposition fee" ). (All figures exlude tax/title/options.)

    That's €33480 to buy a (used) Roadster in three years time. That may be well worth the wait!
