We recently finished this project and gained an other happy customer. As we all know, unfortunately Tesla vehicles have an accelerated paint degradation problem. We wouldn't want to go into details why. This article is not about that. It's about the solution. And this solution called: paint protection film.
There are many manufacturers on the market who provide excellent products to keep your Tesla's paint in original condition. Our chosen brand is Reyno's 'Creek' PPF. We have been working with this company for a long time and we use their ceramic window tint products with great feedback from customers. Their paint protection film derived from Rayno's innovative top-coating material and technology, which help maintain both high density and elongation of the film. It protects the vehicle from scratches, stone chips, bug acid and bird droppings, and other surface damages by various impacts.
And besides all of these, the PPF has the quality of enhancing the look of the paint. Any existing scratches and imperfections will be dulled out by our material, not to mention it will make the cleaning much easier. That's due to the paint protection film's glossy surface that makes it hard for the dirt to stick on the car.
Covering a whole car with this material is a rather tedious job. But we are up to the task. We have over 10 years experience in the lamination industry and worked on numerous Tesla vehicles since the official launch in 2017.
First we prep the surface with our cleaning process that consists of a pass with soapy water, then a deeper cleaning with a clay bar. Then we clean the edges of the panels to further help our film to stick to the surface.
Before we apply the PPF we pass the panel with a soft squeegee. That will give us the desired cleanness to work with. Once the material is laid out, we start pushing the water out from between the clear film and the surface. The glue is pressure activated so as we pass our squeegee the material sticks to the body. Then we wait some time for the water to dry from the edges. This is essential because it makes it easy to cut the excess material when it's dry. Once we are done with the cut, we go over the edges with a heat gun to make sure everything is sealed off. This way the paint protection film will be securely attached. We repeat this process on all the panels of the car until everything is covered.
We offer different options to preserve your Tesla in its original condition. We can cover the bumper only, since this is the most exposed part of the vehicle. We also offer an option to cover/protect the front section of you vehicle. This includes the front bumper, the hood(full or partial) the front fenders(full or partial) and the mirrors. And there is the highest level of protection when we cover the whole car.
The good news is that we also offer big discounts on our ceramic window tints when you decide to have us install the PPF on you Tesla. The discount depends on the paint protection kit you choose and it is from 20% up to 100%. (When you go with the full body kit we throw in the tint for free!)
