Tesla Model X - free upgrade of wheels from 20" to 22" - would you take it?

Hi,

My TA told me that a Tesla MX is available that has about $5700 discount from its 'normal' price. It matches with what I would like to order except it has the larger 22" wheels. Unfortunately, they don't do tire swap as it is already in the parking lot near the Tesla store.

I would have preferred 20" wheels for ride comfort and higher range. But, I was wondering if it is worth getting the 22" (especially given I am getting it for essentially free)?

Thoughts? Would you take this?

Take it and then find someone local to swap the wheels with and see if they'll chip in a few hundred.

Take it. On good pavement 22’s ride fine. On bad pavement 20’s won’t help much imo.

For free, absolutely. Even though I'm 100% content with the 20" + added range. Sucks LA roads are some of the worst.

If range is your primary issue, you might want to read this thread. Not sure if everything is the same on the refresh X though.

Putting Model S 19" Slipstreams on my Model X Performance.

Hello all. I've got a 2019 Model X Performance, and I keep having problems with my stock 20" Slipstream wheels. 1.) They keep getting warped, I suspect due to the poor roads (potholes and the like) 2.) They're easy to curb 3.) The tires are noisy. etc. etc. I was thinking to go down to 19"...

Range is not a main concern.. Mostly being used in the city. And, my most frequent destination (work) has free chargepoint+ charge.

I ordered this today - $5700 discount - so basically free 20" to 22" upgrade and a mobile charger .
