Tesla self-schedule delivery initiative just continues the delivery joke

Awoke this am to find an email from Tesla offering an opportunity to self-schedule delivery. My delivery having been delayed twice I eager clicked on the self-schedule delivery button. What did I find? No delivery appoinments were available.

What? As I'm headed to Europe for 10 days tomorrow, I wanted to self-schedule delivery for October 8, the first full day I'm back home. One would think that delivery appts would be available that far in advance. But not according to this new self-schedule delivery plan. So Tesla, on it's on, just made, at least for me, a bigger joke out how they've bungled delivery of my car.

The delivery hell Elon was talking about is for Model 3 buyers and the self-schedule idea just made it worse.

No idea why some of you are having these issues. Had good communication throughout, delivery pick up was great/easy. This was about 3 weeks ago in Dedham, MA.

Sounds more a matter of putting too many people in a given delivery window.

My delivery specialist booked me for an appointment time that I couldn’t make due to my work schedule and didn’t respond to several emails from me afterwards. So I basically self-scheduled by going to the delivery center in person to change my appointment.

Would much rather have been able to do that online. Would also be much more upset if I went in person to schedule just to find that there were no available appointments than I would be if I had just gone online to do so.

Either way, I feel your pain. My delivery window is this week and I am flying out of town on business tonight. I basically have two 3-hour windows this week during which I can pick up the car and, fortunately, was able to get an appointment during one of those windows.

I would call Tesla or, better yet, go to the delivery center in person and explain your situation if it is within a reasonable distance from you. They were actually quite responsive and helpful when I showed up in person.

Thanks. Just don't have the time before the trip tomorrow to visit my service center. Plus when I last talked to the delivery manager at my SC I was told that I should be patient -- they'd email me with a date. That was 3 days ago and that email has not yet arrived.

I got a feeling, the problem is that you are outside of the delivery window. A number of people have indicated that you can only delay a car delivery so long, with two weeks seeming to be the max before your vehicle is recycled.

3 weeks ago was a lifetime ago on this crazy ramp up. My friend also went smooth in Dedham,MA about 4 weeks ago.

Try even calling Dedham, MA you cannot reach ANY Department any time of day right now.

I've yet to talk to my Delivery Advisor and I'm scheduled to pickup (via an Appointment Maker) Thursday Morning.
So far things look ok, except for lack of any communication to finalize things.

If paperwork is done and payment complete you should be good to go. FYI if you need to contact Dedham directly, choose "service" then hit "2". This will get you straight to Dedham instead of bouncing you to the national line.
