I mean, I'd like to be wrong but the NM law mentioned in the Southwest Region forum talks about how Tesla has tried to enter NM as a place to sell/deliver vehicles but has been met with "challenges" with the dealerships association. AFAIK, that law has not yet changed.

Oh well…. I suspect you’re correct. Thx for the info. We have friends in Colorado Springs so it will be a nice drive home in the new ride. Now all I need is a delivery date. MIne has moved from early Nov to late Dec, back top early Nov, then to January 2022 and now I don’t have an estimated delivery date in my Tesla account at all. Research suggests the global chip shortage is doing a number on automotive production across the board. For example, Toyota just cut US production by 60% Thx and be well

Right, so far as I know.
The possible wrinkle is if Tesla is on tribal lands.

I believe that location is in the Pueblo of Pojoaque, perhaps that is the magic ticket around the issue?

Perhaps; It is the reigning conjecture. But there is a small sliver of land between Pojoague and the pueblo to the north along 285. Google maps places the Tesla showroom right in that sliver. The best reason I can think of that Google Maps is wrong is simply that if not on tribal lands, I don't know why Tesla would choose that spot rather than SF or Albuquerque. This of course presumes that Tesla was not swindled into a spot they thought was tribal land but is not.

I'm just not sure, but I hope to find out at the event !

My Tesla advisor says it’s not a delivery or service location at his time because of the NM franchise laws. I explained the potential loophole of it being on Pueblo land and the implications that may or may not have. This showroom is going into the old Nambe Falls Casino which was operated by the Pojoague but was closed down prior to Covid So I believe it to be on Pueblo lands. He seemed intrigued and said he’d take it to his manager since they can get significant rewards for innovation ideas. We agreed that this for the lawyers and the Pueblo to sort out. I gotta believe someone has already worked this angle. That being said I expect I’ll be in the springs to get our MY. Which by the way I just got a new EDD. 11-01-21 to 11-21-21. STOKED!

I am in Los Alamos, so I will go down and check, but that old mini casino has been under construction for the last few months. I have been pushing Tesla hard to get a service center in in Santa Fe, as the sheer number of Tesla's in Los Alamos and Santa Fe is huge. We have 4 on my street, and people ask me to drive the car all the time randomly in the grocery store parking lot. Tesla isn't really paying attention to these clusters, that is why there isn't a Supercharger in Alamosa yet, and people have a hell of a time getting to the one in Poncha Springs when driving north. However, they do know how many cars they have to deliver to New Mexico from Denver and CO Springs, and it is significant. Since you buy a Tesla online anyway, it gets around the franchise laws. I purchased mine from my desk here in NM, then they delivered it on a truck. The second one I picked up in LIttelton because I wanted to do the walkaround with them, but I still purchased it online.

Who are you pushing to get the service center? I want to join in. I spoke to a friend mine who works with the legislators during regular sessions. He told me the best place to start would be with Antonio (Moe) Maestes who chairs the Commerce and Economic Development Committee. Next would be Elizabeth Thompson who chairs the Consumer and Public Affairs Committee and finally, Mathew McQueen from the Environment and Natural Resources Committee.

I drove by yesterday and saw large shop doors on the side and 4-5 chargers in the back. I really hope that it’s a service center too, I just had an issue with my car and it was towed to El Paso, which isn’t so fun to try and get to. Anyone RSVP for the event tomorrow? I clicked the RSVP but never got a number or text/email. I guess I’ll show up anyways
