Seems like Leo really feels the heat now, he is kept ranting at Twitter right now. The premarket of TSLA isn't helping either (Although premarket doesnt mean sugar now given the environment) Hope better day comes for Tesla

Yeah, he seems pretty upset.

I have similar feelings. We'll have to wait and see but I would be very surprised if Elon wasn't selling yesterday (accompanied by tweeting "I will make sure Tesla shareholders benefit from Twitter long-term" and "beware of debt" ). We're just Elon's exit liquidity!

Completely disagree…and I have many friends in those locations you just listed. Twitter isn’t even that popular in a number of those countries…..UK? Are you kidding me? A extreme leftist in the UK would be considered a moderate independent in the US. Europe doesn’t care about US politics and the left or the right. They especially don’t care that much about Twitter 🥴
Let me fix that for you.

A extreme leftist in the USA would be considered a tolerable centrist in the UK. Europe doesn’t care for US politics of either the left or the right. They especially don’t care that much for Twitter

I am one of those people in one of those locations, and I have not been particularly impressed by Muks's politics and political behaviour at any time in the last 22-years since the point when he came on my radar, or for that matter some aspects of his personal and business behavior. It was only his - and his team's - sustained committment and undeniable delivery in respect of BEVs and storage that caused me to set aside my distaste and antipathy and concerns and invest in Tesla, and (in due course) hopefully buy one of Tesla's vehicles.

Much like me, out there in the world beyond USA (hint : approx 2/3 of Tesla's market and manufacturing capacity) there are an awful lot of people who really really do not like Musk's behaviour. And I am definitely not what is ordinarily considered some wishy washy left wing type, nor is the typical Tesla buyer in WOUSA-land a champagne-socialist.

Pretty much nobody I know uses Twitter here in Europe, they're all on FaceBook
I follow 50 persons who I know personally on Twitter. Less than 5 post a tweet once in a while. Only one person has tweeted negatively about Elon, but that person has an anti-establishment attitude anyway and is the kind of person who is only happy when he can complain. Twitter gets much more media attention than usage here.
I feel the sentiment (amongst the people I know) around Tesla is less negative now than what it was in 2017-2019 during the Model 3 ramp. Back then people asked me if I wasn’t afraid to be stuck with an expensive car from a bankrupt manufacturer. Nowadays they ask me how much range I have lost, and act surprised about the answer.

Sounds like Europe's response to the IRA?
No, category error.

The EU-CBAM it has been much longer in gestation that the US-IRA, and has a far more coherent intellectual and scientific basis than the US-IRA.

Crucially the EU-CBAM is WTO-compliant, whereas the US-IRA does not appear to be.

I don't think Elon selling lately, I highly recommend take some time to read Papafox's Daily report with the moment like these lately:

I went to bed last night in merry old England, got ~8 hours of sleep and one of the first things I did this morning was check this thread. I saw there were around 10 pages of unread posts to catch up on. This is so exciting - it usually means there is some important Tesla announcement that is being discussed.

I was sorely mistaken. 😒

What in that leads you to believe Elon didn't sell? To my eyes, the stock action suggest he did sell, and his comments align with comments he made during previous sells.

Elon sold yesterday.

He can’t be tweeting *sugar* while selling can he?
On the other hand price is down so if he did sell could explain higher volume…

If Tesla does buy back at these prices caused by him selling to keep TWTR debts in check- could be one way TWTR ultimately helps Tesla shareholders :) :)

I get up around 5 am every morning as sleep is hard ATM with a pinched nerve in my neck.
When I do, the first site I check is this one..... I see the same basic bickering continues.

I would like to propose a new reaction category...a "who cares" button. Of course, I mean it in the sense of how one would use that in common verbal usage.

If I read 15-20 post's about demand destruction...I would pound the who cares button instead of disagree.

Because the folks posting the same drivel over and over really need a different reaction than just a disagree.

In theory there are rules but what is really important is whether or not this is a lockup period (close to announcements on earning, etc) when he can't be selling. If it is open season than I think you have your answer and clearly some big investors think EM is hurting them. Leo was one of the larger personal investors holding several million, losing much, built it back up. It seems to me he's selling.

I don't like Musk's politics or tweets. Apart from anything else, they show poor judgement and may well be part of a concerning trend towards damaging Tesla's brand in the long term (although we don't have enough data to conclusively say it has hurt Tesla). However, I think/hope it's possible to fundamentally disagree with someone's politics and still respect them and admire their competence.

That said, people still buy Nestle products. People still watch the football in Qatar. People still use Twitter, even if it's just to moan about Musk. People buy clothes made by Bangladeshi children. People still fly on pointless trips despite climate change. People still buy cars from companies that literally used slave labour 80 years ago and have more recently killed people by cheating their emissions tests.

Many people who are loudly refusing to buy a Tesla weren't in a position to buy one anyway. They'll soon move on to complaining about another company that has somehow offended them. I guess it's good to have a hobby.

None of this excuses Musk — but I think it's important to remember that in the real world, most people don't care about anything beyond their immediate sphere and have extremely short memories regarding a company's behaviour.

I'm holding onto my shares.

Since lately I have been transferring all the money I make at work in my brokerage account, my wife asked me a genuine question I could not answer: “Why has the SPY been up 12% since Oct 12th while TSLA has been down 25%?, why don’t you put your money in ETFs?’’

In answer to that I bought 200 shares@160

The people who lost their jobs because their factory moved to China- buy the Chinese products

All about product and price at the end of the day

Because you buy low and sell high. Unless there's a legitimate reason not to buy the stock thats plummeting. Is there?
