Maybe. As a new manufacturer, Bollinger has its work cut out, but GM hasn't exactly been a mover or shaker when it comes to EVs. The first attempt to slow adoption was their hybrid (Volt), and the EV (Bolt) isn't exactly inspiring. Nissan (for all the faults of the Leaf) takes it seriously, GM just wants EVs to go away.

edit to add:

I get it, its a puff piece. But the target market for Hummers doesn't give a hoot about environmentally friendly, no icing on that cake. Brand name could help sales, sure, but they are exaggerating the synergy.
Bolt. Volt. Maybe they could call this one, the Hummer Ohm.

I was reluctant to click on VIEW to see the "sensitive material."

Lol ;) It's not actually sensitive. It's a clip of Musk's video conference to the Russian business forum. He says something which makes the whole audience erupt in cheering, which makes Musk give one of his goofy smiles, which then makes the girl holding the camera and one of her friends swoon.

ARK dumped 93k shares today. She probably knows that the stock will overreact to a “bad” Q3

It would be a violation of Ark's policy to not sell off some TSLA shares after a meaningful runup. The company always stays around 10%, and they try to prevent any stock from meaningfully exceeding 10%.

People trying to read tea leaves into this are just projecting their own feelings.

I think Hawthorne billboard owners are golden from now on..

Re: One more thing at Pickup event.

1) I think the Pickup is going to be massive in size. It could be a "smaller", more normal looking pickup will be the one more thing.

The Tesla pickup is announced to have a starting price of under $50,000. No way could a "massive" Tesla pickup sell for under $50,000 (unless you think an F-150 is massive). If there is a "massive" Tesla pickup it can't be the one Musk has been talking about.

After today's trading, Tesla is still ARK's top holding by a wide margin. Regular readers of this thread should already be well aware that ARK's policy is to not buy more shares of a stock that comprises more than 10% of a fund. And to possibly sell a small portion of such a holding after it has been running up, to pay for more shares of their high conviction stocks that have dipped. This is to maintain the diversity that fund investors demand. Yet we continue to see posts attempting to put a negative spin on this prudent process.

They can have a wide offering on one platform with a 50k truck with 2 seats and an 8 foot bed and a stretched 5 seat cab with an 8 to 12 foot bed. One pickup name could run from 50k to 120k with a single name.
Pickup Standard, Std Long Range, Extended cab standard range, extended cab, long range.

Does anyone happen to know whether or not ARK sold any shares before Q2 earnings? There was a similar runup to Q2 earnings as well, right?

In the long run ARK is accumulating TESLA in any strong price rise. it’s capped to 10% of its portfolio, but whenever it has to sell some Tesla due to the price making the portion bigger than 10%, it is reallocating that money to other positions and the overall fund increases in size, meaning their 10% tesla position is bigger than what it used to be.

simple hypothetical:

$100 million fund has $10 million in tesla (10% cap)
Tesla increases 50% in short amount of time: Tesla position increases from $10 million -> $15 million.
Fund now worth $105 million (ignoring other stock changes).
End result after rebalancing the fund: $10.5 million in tesla stock.
