If letter is good it usually comes out in about 1 hour before CC, if it is bad it comes half an hour or later before the CC

Was it Q1 or Q2 when they released the report after 5pm eastern? (or was it 4pm eastern) I can't remember exactly, but it was released so late that even the CNBC Fast Money traders couldn't discuss it.

Yes. I have the impression that TSLA/Musk tend to release the results in the last minute if they are bad.
The good 2 quarters were released much sooner than that after bell closed.
So my intuition is if no ER release by 2pm PDT. It's a bad sign.

And yes the CC is not till 6:30, so they're not in a hurry to release report -- don't want to have too much of a lull between report and call, lest folks tempted to speculate wildly in the interim.

this is why the report is probably bad. the late release in q1 could've been meant to minimize the stock downturn before they could rescue the narrative a bit on the call
