Too expensive to change main factory but making Texas the future is possible for a company on this growth ramp

wouldn’t be the first tech company to move jobs out of Cal to Tx and other states due to Governmental regulations/cost.

I don’t doubt Tesla will be a less centric Cal company as they vigorously expand in the next 10 years.

With all due respect
F the Verge
Its a piece of trash that has always had a hard on for Tesla, day and night
And F SA too
Let them shortzes come
EM burned them thrice
He can do it again

so is the official fanboy position that news media should not cover a billionaire call the US government response to an ongoing pandemic (2700 dead today!) fascist? A response that at least on the state level is guided by pubic health experts. his rant made no sense and it is news worthy for it's insanity. this idea from the fan boys that all media criticism is some deep conspiracy is exactly why Elon has gotten so hubristic. reevaluate the type of behavior you guys want from Elon. this type of singular minded, not listening to the experts but listening to lunatics like John McAfee, blocking out any criticism should not be encouraged. Elon chose to make the headlines this by going on an insane rant. he could've easily been aware of the criticism and said something like "it's really important to reopen ASAP with care and safety" unlike the deranged rant he went on cursing and what not. That's a choice Elon made!

He's our guy and he's done a ton of good for the world, and I hope he continues to, but sometimes a little tough love is necessary. He's completely off the reservation with both his message AND messaging right now, he deserved to be called out

Amazing how it took us less than 6 weeks of SIP (barely enforced and half as long as Wuhan) for all hell to break loose and Elon goes out of his way to step right in the middle of it. Why?? It will do absolutely nothing for the situation with Fremont (in fact it endangers relations with officials), it hurts the character of the brand with a nontrivial segment of the population (even in other countries), and it could even take the shine off being affiliated with the company for some employees. It's just such an own goal it's not even funny. What could possibly be the strategy??

Absolutely agree, but I expected him to have a much more cerebral reaction than this. He sounds like a spoiled brat who's throwing his toys out of the pram because he can't get what he wants from gov. and state officials as easily as he used to.

Based on his rant it sounds like some of his supply chain is in danger of bankruptcy rather than him not able to open which means back to production hell if that happens.

unlike conservatives, i don't feel the need to be a bootlicking toady in lockstep with whoever is in charge, and don't feel i have to pretend the dumb things my leaders do are smart.

Oh, so you are saying you have a problem with Elon doing exactly what you do? Attention all cry babies---please look in the mirror.

Do you know what he's been through with the authority that's lead him to this level of frustration?

blocking out enough of these type of comments in real life and on twitter and seeking out sources that validate your priors even when its a lunatic like John mcafee

Tesla shouldn’t sink another nickel into infrastructure in the Bay Area. Then they need a plan to move manufacturing out of that old NUMI building into a brand new Giga in a more advantageous location.

Actually, if society had its head on straight, it would have deemed Tesla as an important business that needs to stay open because it is moving society to sustainable energy and production. But its lumped in as another "auto" company....

1. Stay at home if that is your decision.
2. Convince or force your loved ones to stay at home if you chose so. Do the same with every person you know if you think it is right. Pay your employees to stay at home if you can afford it and you think it is right.
3. Stop forcing other people to do what you think is right. They have their own right, and it is not worse than yours. I'm ( I grew up in a socialist country with little personal freedoms) fascinated to explain this on this forum to US folks
4. Hospital capacity is not overwhelmed in most of the country, so see 1-3 and keep for yourself and people who care what you say.

Right?

Yesterday I was at Subway, and I caught myself leaning on their "separation" tables. And in my playful Canadian way, I started touching them all and laughing... Yep, I'm a bit crazy as well. But not all Canadians are that way. Just all of them I know. So childish of me among all the adults here, and I'm almost 60. I just don't deserve all this money!

We may not agree, but ya gotta love the minority here for speaking out even though it's controversial with all but rotten tomatoes. Here's to freedom of speech! It must be how gay people feel, ya know?

Cheers

Do you know what he's been through with the authority that's lead him to this level of frustration?

please stop this. he's been an anti vaxxer on c19 from the start. he's repeatedly downplayed it, he thinks the death tolls are fake, he thinks doctors and hospitals are basically listing patients as death from c19 to get more money, or putting them on vents to get more money. its absolutely insane. he's just straight off on this.

being angry with the CEO of a company doesn't mean i'm giving up on the overall vision or bigger picture.

unlike conservatives, i don't feel the need to be a bootlicking toady in lockstep with whoever is in charge, and don't feel i have to pretend the dumb things my leaders do are smart.
Oh please! Just stop with the political name calling, generalization and otherwise childish insinuations. We get you're disappointed. You don't need to go smearing everyone who has a different perspective to try to better you're stance.
