Reminds me of a clone army
Perfect image! Others have said this but it bears repeating. We are in a long war with the fossil fuel interests. Part of that war is "hot" right now and much of it is in the information / disinformation space. Much is in the legal space - most recently with fossil-owned state legislatures in the US now punishing companies that by rule exclude fossil investment. (Yes, dear European readers, that is truly happening over here).

I very much see the newly built mass of Model Y's as foot soldiers going out and fighting the FUD, raising the morale of the good guys, and creating a living army (a.k.a "constituents") to carry on the fight in the politico-legal space.

Ship baby, ship! By the hundreds of thousands. For good and profit. Ship!!!

Not that anyone really knows, but if parts of USA lost internet, would the high speed traders still have access to markets, or is everyone need internet in order to trade? Concerned if the net really does go out, will our investments still be there when it comes back on? Obviously an attack like this would affect the macros on the other side. Probably not worth worrying as it falls into that "things you cannot change" bucket. Just curious if anyone played this scenario out in their heads or elsewhere, or if the house has direct connection to the markets that we would not have during an outage.

It's a bit off topic, but war + internet + TMC blink just sent my mind there. We're very glad for having Solar with Powerwalls today. It gets hot in the summer which is when I always thought an attack might occur in the S West.

Let's just say that to get a driving license in Germany is a little more complex than simply showing up at the DMV and not effing up the multiple choice test....

  • get a vision test
  • complete first-aid course
  • complete compulsory hours of professional instruction
  • complete compulsory hours of theoretical instruction
  • pass multiple-choice exam
  • pass driving test
  • cost between $1600 - $3000 all-in
Just try driving in the fast lane when not passing. Unless you're driving with Romanian plates, of course.

Hope its just a 2 day thing...

Tesla’s primary vehicle export hub, Gigafactory Shanghai, is suspending its operations for two days. The halt comes as China deals with its latest Covid outbreak, which has forced the country to adopt stringent safety restrictions once more. The temporary pause in the massive electric vehicle production facility’s operations was shared in a notice sent internally and to the company’s suppliers.

I know it won’t be much help right now, but it will be good to have Berlin online very soon producing cars to smooth out these bumps in overseas deliveries next year.

Well if there has ever been a better time to get GigaBerlin and GigaTexas open and delivering than now, I do not know.

EDIT: As @Ogre stated above too.

While it might reduce the production for the quarter, it likely won't make much/any difference for the year. With production being supply limited it will allow them to build up the part supply some. (Assuming of course their most limited parts supply producers don't get shut down as well.)

Or they might be able to re-route some of the parts supply to other factories to keep production up.
