For me, paywalls can be so frustrating in that teaser headlines sometimes really make me wonder just what possibly could the article be discussing?

Today, we have the Wall St Journal: This Ford vs GM Feud Could Shape the Future of EVs in America

In fairness, the word "could" is rather all-encompassing in its spanning the spectrum of possibilities.

As in they will have nothing to do with it?

Brief from Google:

GM isn't planning investments with Chinese battery firms—and could see Ford gain a critical technological and cost advantage in the EV race if its deal goes forward. GM executives and lobbyists have called for a strict “foreign entity of concern” rule that would prevent such licensing arrangements.6 hours ago

Ford is happy to work with Chinese manufacturers like CATL.

GM's Ultium is a JV with LG Energy and I think it's also going to work with Samsung or SK, so it's very much looking to South Korea companies.
So, naturally, GM would be very happy to have rules that keep the Chinese battery manufacturers out and is lobbying for strict enforcement of the "foreign entity of concern" rules.

Probably nothing, but watch again and hear the motor whine. I've never been in a Tesla, but from all the videos watched over the years, there is only one motor that makes that kind of noise, the Plaid ones

Maybe they just added it's noise because it's the coolest one, or that is a subtle hint to the new Model 3 Performance

Also, they cut the video right when it hits 200 km/h, but if you got frame by frame, power still at it's peak, Highland is limited to 201 km/h, so power should have been way down for it to smoothly stop accelerating at 201 km/h
My wife previous M3P and current MYLR are both totally silent, my MXPlaid sounds like a jet taking off, even at relatively slow acceleration, my previous XP100DL+ was silent, my previous, previous MS 85P had a fast whine to it

TBH I find it a little disturbing, I prefer total silence, I did ask Tesla Service if it was normal, but they never answered...

... which was normal.

I knew it was bad, but seeing this in graph form makes it look disturbing for anyone not Tesla. Wow.
Well, it's also mixed for Tesla because they're 60% of the market when competing against EVs with far worse charging network support. When they get more NACS to CCS out there (Magic Dock and adapters/network support) it'll be a sales booster for other vehicles.

Winnipeg-to-Chicago-guy wouldn't have been a story with an adapter. Well, maybe "Ford F-150 Lightning Owner Complains That Superchargers Make Him Feel Bad About Parking Badly".

The bastards just refuse to let TSLA gain ground and protect their kind only.

That robot I saw standing on it's own, acting human neck to feet, ready for the next download, and the stock drops. Not to mention the advantages of non-union workers.

Unfortunately, I could not convince a smart kid that it was more than what he'd seen from Boston Dynamics. So once again, we have the truth and the world is in the dark with no plans to change. That's how one prospers I guess. 🤷‍♂️

Short term the market is a casino, but long term it always adjusts for valuation. TSLA will reflect it's value in time, for now Wall Street hasn't positioned itself yet to allow that to happen. It will eventually, it will have to, because Wall Street never misses a golden opportunity to make money, and like we all know TSLA is exactly that in the long term.

Patience.

The nice thing is that ultimately, push will come to shove. FSD will be out, bot will be in production. All those doubters and haters will be crying goober tears while we swim laps in our pools full of their money. And I won't shed a tear for them.

So roughly 1 year in 7, TSLA is close to fair value. The other 6 years are constantly referred to as short term and buying opportunities. We've been in our current buying opportunity for nearly 2 years.

It is not about robots and FSD and being non-union. WS is about being an organized crime cartel and thievery.
Flicks like: Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street and The Big Short help with visualizing some of it.

In case you did not get by now.

Hmm, my M3P has a noticeable whine that I can hear very well at low speeds when I give it some juice (or it hits regen). Sounds like the video above. Now that I think about it my 22YP doesn't sound the same but that could just be better sound deadening. I believe the sound got louder in my 3 back when they gave us the extra power via software update.

Outside of TSLA and more in index fund land, anyone hankering for exposure to Utilities with all of the solar/battery deals happening?

I wanted to add some Utilities exposure back in 2022 and missed the boat, but think there's ample opportunity going forward. Also, Vanguard still doesn't have a solar ETF...

Patience is exactly why I have my next buy-back at 235 - or there about. We can call this part casino, but it was actually predicted by someone no longer posting, among others here. It's following the red line but good news is we are close to it now. Fully expect a turn-around soon, but ya never really know. Tesla sure is pissing off a lot of folks now so all bets are 1/2 off.
