Tesla Y screen and interior gets darker while driving at night. hard to see screen and other interior

The brightness gets set to a default when engaging autopilot/FSD at night. For me, the default is too bright. It's annoying that it changes from whatever brightness the driver set.

I wish that worked. It'll change back a few seconds after you engage AP / FSD at night.

You can use voice command "make screen brighter" without using the touchscreen while driving. Repeat the command until it reaches the brightness you want.

I don't like mine very bright at night either. I press the right button on the steering wheel and say 'set display to 5 percent.' Sometimes I'll set it to 3%

Touch Controls > Display to adjust display settings to suit your preferences:

• Appearance: Customize the display to be Dark or Light. When set to Auto, the brightness changes automatically based on ambient lighting conditions.
• Brightness: Drag the slider to manually control the brightness level. If Display Mode is set to Auto, the touchscreen further adjusts based on both the ambient lighting conditions and your brightness preference. Model Y remembers your chosen brightness preference and adjusts the touchscreen accordingly.
• Screen Clean Mode: When enabled, your touchscreen darkens and temporarily disables to facilitate cleaning. Follow the onscreen instructions to exit Screen Clean Mode.
• Touchscreen Language: Select the language that the touchscreen displays.

I wish that worked. It'll change back a few seconds after you engage AP / FSD at night.

Have you tried turning OFF the "Auto" setting, since it sounds like you dont want that?

Have you tried turning OFF the "Auto" setting, since it sounds like you dont want that?

Yes. It turns back on when engaging AP.
