It would not be easy to disconnect or disable this camera unless the service agent knew how to operate it but nothing stops them from covering it up.

I have the Blackvue dashcam and the service tech disconnected it. Not a problem. It has a DC plug-in. Take plug out,let hang down and voila, off

I contacted today the EU vendor of the dashcam. (PCH from exclusiveparts.se)
Received within half an hour response and new firmware without startup sound. Perfect!

Next to that I was checking why my snapshots were worse than those from the websites.


Then found that I still had a protective film on the camera... problem solved.

A bit off topic, but I don't understand something. The new Tesla's have a ton (well 8) of cameras. It seems it should be possible to have a app that can direct the video to a connected USB drive. I'm not concerned about sound. Seems silly to add another camera.

Correct, it would be wonderful if Tesla would make some kind of dashcam with additional information from the car (like AP status). With 1TB drive on glove compartment.

But for the moment this is the only solution.

Would they even need to add a dashcam? What abound the three cameras pointing forward, and the one in the rear? Additional info would be cool, but not necessary IMO. That would be very cool to document trips.
