Quick question for all Texas buyers! I finally received MVPA yesterday and was asked to submit final payment but here are few confusing things:
1. Tesla account shows that I owe $21,977.25 while MVPA shows final payment as $22,077.25. The only difference I see is that $100 order fee is not deducted from final payment in MVPA. Is this something that I have to reach out to SA or delivery specialist for correction?

2. When I placed order for my MY, my SA told me to choose "cash payment" in order to get the order going regardless if I plan to finance my final payment or not. Now, my Tesla account shows the button with "Add Bank Account and Pay." Do I provide my credit union information that I plan to finance? or Do I have to reach out to Tesla and notify that I am financing the final payment with local credit union?

Thank you for all your help, guys!

Cheers!

1. The outstanding amount shown in your account is correct.
2. Reach out to Tesla (your inside delivery contact) and tell them you need to finance. If you add a bank account and pay, that'd be cash payment. Tesla will remove the last step of the checklist from your account (payment), and you'll then start the self-arranged loan option to connect your credit union and Tesla

Thank you so much for answering my questions! I appreciate it!

I just received a text message from Tesla stating that my MY will be ready tomorrow. However, it is still pending inspection and detailing. It is going to suck picking up my vehicle in the rain. I guess I will have take it home to do a detail inspection.
Same. I don’t think I will pick it up in the rain though. If tomorrow looks rainy, I may just wait until Friday and ask them to detail it for Friday.

New TMC member reporting in....
Still waiting....But I now know my Y is in houston, unfortunately with damage to the center console panel. Replacement panel on order with updated date for me to take delivery set for Friday 9-11-20.

ordered 7-18-20
Vin text on 8-24-20
sched delivery 9-11-20
LRAWD black with white interior model Y
Location: Houston,TX
VIN # 42,XXX

No gonna lie this whole order process has been extremely frustrating. They must be swamped with deliveries. i called six times this weekend trying to get updates. I felt like i was bothering the North Houston Team, but i just couldnt get answers.

My car's been in houston since Friday 9-4-20, and no one call me with an update. No i'm worried the repair part will come in and they will overlook it. Oh well I'll keep calling.

Any one just out right cancelled their order this late in the game?

For those now driving and owning the Y, do you find the model Y worth the purchase hassle?

The buying process was kind of frustrating with the lack of communication but it was definitely worth it for me.

Buying Tesla solar panels in Houston is much worse. We cancelled our order for that one.

How much does something like this cost?
I was quoted the following:

Full front PPF - Includes the full hood, full fenders, lights, bumper and mirrors - $1550 plus tax
Full car PPF - Tesla price is $4750 plus tax.this also includes a ceramic coating on all the PPF using Xpel Fusion Plus coating. Non Tesla pricing on a full car is $5750.

Ceramic Coat the whole car was 900-1200 depending on what product I selected.

Tint is going to be around 600 for the whole car I think.

I am out the door for around 5500. Full car isn't for everyone but I hate rock chips and I just don't want to worry about it and I planned for it all along when purchasing the vehicle.

Frankly, If I was going to just do a ceramic coat and nothing else I would DIY it. It's easy and significantly cheaper than any other option. Companies like Adam's Polishes or Chemical Guys sell ceramic coats with detailed instructions on how to apply them. Some of the coats even fluoresce under UV light to show you where you missed or maybe went too thin.

Well I got my MY last night. Only issues I found so far was the driver side rear hatch is misaligned and the passenger rear coat hinge gets stuck. I am going to look at the vehicle in more detail after work then put in a working order for those deflects and to get my homelink installed.

Today I picked up VIN 36xxx MSM on white. Near perfect car. Had I not been spending time on TMC, I probably would not have noticed anything: One taillight and one headlight are slightly off, but again, if I was not so OCD about it I wouldn’t even notice it.

a few thoughts that I’m sharing only because I’d have liked to hear about before I bought:

drives great! Ride quality is better than most any car this size (On par with X3), but not as comfy as a car much larger in size (I’m coming from Mazda CX-9 and I’d prefer the CX-9 for long trips).

sound system is really good but not mind blowing like some make it sound (coming from a Mazda with a Bose setup). Sound system really shines at high volume and is decent but nothing special at low/mid volume.

Austin delivery was decent. Didn’t even need to talk to anyone. Everything was touchless and safe.

Im a total newb so one pedal driving is kinda weird. Acceleration and the no-lag response is insane. My other car is BMW 328i which is like a kid’s toy next to this when it comes to responsiveness and quickness.

I’m really thrilled all around.

Tesla taped the temporary tag on the inside of the rear window. Do you all know if this is acceptable or should I try to get it on the license plate somehow? I’ve always seen the temporary tag on the license plate holder in the past...
