I've seen some threads about the inconvenience of having the car locked when it's in the garage. I agree that often you want to get or put something in the car, and you don't have your phone with. I found one simple solution: Leave the window open. Any downsides to that? We used to keep our phones charging in the garage, but I decided that's like leaving the keys by the car.
I found a downside: I turned on the climate control from inside the house, and the window was open. I was heating the garage.
Well, we never use our phones in the house (poor coverage). So it worked well to drop them in the charging box when entering or leaving the house.
Leaving the window down does not work as the car still locks as I walk away with my iPhone while in the garage.
