Tire and Wheel Insurance

Any recommendations for good tire and wheel insurance? I just purchased a 2018 P3D that has 20" wheels with low profile tires and live in a city with a lot of potholes. EEK. Thanks for any advice!

Discount tire will typically sell certificates (insurance) on tires purchased elsewhere. Not sure how new they need to be.

It’s an insurance policy - read it carefully and understand the costs associated before purchasing (for example have to purchase a certificate on any replacement tires).

In general, insurance is a good idea if it protects you from a catastrophic expense that you can't afford. If you buy insurance to save yourself money, it's rarely worth it, on average. If it was worth it for you, the insurance company wouldn't offer it.

I would get a spare instead, especially if you drive out of town on weekend.

Note: More an insurance for not been stranded for a full day, first waiting for a tow truck
to take you back home or to a Tesla Service center. And then getting your tire repaired or replaced.

Only Service center might have the correct tire or rim, but they might be closed on weekend.
Also so it might be simpler and closer to order a new tire at your local shop then.

You can also get a full wheel ready and leave it at home, and take it with you only when going far away.
