TMZ caught Elon in Cybertruck last night

It's already said many times; there are no traffic lights for that exit. Check it for yourself with Google Maps if you don't believe. (But it's illegal to turn left there...)

It was "right turn only" sign.

was that “right turn only” sign an official traffic sign or just placed there by the restaurant?

No idea... (I'm Eurof**k, and never visited Malibu's Nobu, so how would I know...)

Sign before Cybertruck treatment.

Yeah...probably not “illegal”. Looks to be very much a “suggestion” placed there by the business just to prevent a backup in their parking lot waiting for people to turn left. If it was an actual traffic sign, it would usually be more permanent.

Definitely not an official state sign. Probably put there illegally by restaurant to help people get out because a left turner might be stuck waiting forever holding up the line, unless you’re Elon and say **** it and jam out left. It’s odd that there is a light one way, must be basically for cross walk. Don’t normally see light on one direction like that, and it’s a little unsafe for this reason. Cars coming at that green don’t know that rich drunk CEO’s are spitting out of that parking lot in front of them.

Still... Making a left turn by running over a business's "right turn only" sign is really bad form.

Side note: Due to the size and styling, other drivers are not going to like sharing the road with these things, especially in parts of California where large, hard-to-see-through pickups are relatively uncommon. This will be a big problem as FSD rolls out. Folks who are cut off by an erratically-driving cybertruck will be pist-- and they will recognize the vehicle as a Tesla and assume (often rightly) that it is being driven using automation/driver assist. AP/FSD models 3 and S blend in better.

He doesn't have a red, because that isn't a street intersection. There is a signal for the traffic on the street. The purpose of the signal is to protect the crosswalk for people walking to the beach. The traffic on PCH has a green, so he is making an unprotected left turn across several lanes of heavy highway traffic that all have the right-of-way (the functional-- if not legal-- equivalent of making a left turn against a red light across a busy street). That's a really stupid place to be making a left turn-- especially when making the left involves running over a privately owned "right turn only sign" placed by the owner of the lot you are pulling out of. The safe thing would have been to take a right turn and then make a U-turn at the next real intersection.
