Tow mode

Can anyone with a tow bar fitted to their Model 3 help?
When I connect my electrical lead from my trailer to my m3, the car automatically goes into towing mode. I.e a caravan light illuminates on the screen and my rear reversing sensors are de activated.
However when I disconnect the trailer the tow mode stays on and I have to delve into the menus to manually turn it off.
Is this right?

Yes this is correct, a little annoying I guess but page 86 of the owners manual says
"When you disconnect the trailer's electrical connection, Trailer Mode does not disengage automatically. To Manually engage or disengage Trailer Mode, touch CONTROLS > DRIVING > TRAINER MODE on the touchscreen."

Also, ensure if towing that the caravan icon is blue, which indicates towing mode is on. If the caravan icon is amber, it means it’s detected something is plugged into the electrical socket, however towing mode is disabled ie. using a bike carrier.

Safety wise, you want a human to acknowledge nothing is towed in case of accident wire disconnect. I feel that’s the right way to do it.
