Tow weight rating

Hi Folks, We are planning a road trip with the dogs. The MYLR has a tow and I was planning to get a carrier for some luggage.
I have seen mixed weight ratings. Has anyone used the tow with a luggage carrier (no wheels)? What max weight including the carrier would you recommend?

I carry 2-3 bikes on the tow hitch and sometimes sneak a 4th on there. That’s around 125-150 pounds depending on the bikes. That is kind of pushing the limit.
