This.

This time you speak of - was that when NYT profiled the great warrior, Osama Bin Laden ? Or was this when they had a soft focus puff piece on Hitler ? Or may be when they pushed a story by Chalabi about WMD - which legitimized Iraq war that has killed a million people.

Show me an era when your "standards in writing" were great. I'll show you examples of colossal mistakes.

I really appreciated how you omitted the part where I said there was yellow journalism. I get it, you have an axe to grind. But let's be honest and not trim inconvenient parts.

This is such a funny interview. I had to watch it a second time. It becomes clear just how ridiculous how irrelevant the journalist's questions are. They are clearly much more interested in talking about tweets and feelings than Tesla and business results. What a joke this whole business media has become. TMZ looks like serious journalism compared to this circus.

100% agree. Since when does a corporation focus on one individual in a company thinking it represent the entire company. How mind boggling is that. I know allot of companies that have fired employees for stealing and being dishonest. since when do new corporate outlets interview these companies asking about employees. it's almost like they are funded by oil companies to fish for stories and exderate the situation. Sorry but this is a subject that I feel should be addressed because the financial numbers dont add up. Just look at the weed sectors. Those have blown up and some of their CEO's should be brought into the spot light for having criminal backgrounds. FML

Hmmm … what axe to grind ? Instead insinuating something vaguely nefarious, just come out and say what you are hinting at.

It didn't stop yellow journalism, but there wasn't this notion that "critical thinking is just too hard so its not their fault they get it wrong all the time."
There was nothing "yellow journalism" about the NYT pieces I referred to. Nobody at that time referred to them as yellow journalism. That was all "serious", "standard" stuff.

In all seriousness, this is kind of amazing. What other car company has this many owners lining up to volunteer to help with new car deliveries? Nobody else had this level of fanaticism.
I know I'm not "lining up" to do this. I don't work for free, and I have my own stuff to do on my weekends you know?

Saw a boat load of Tesla’s heading north on I5 toward Seattle or Canada:) Had I the time, I would have given the truck an escort with flashing lights ~ you know, the works. But, the dogs were in need of, well, relief. If I start seeing more loaded trucks delivering Ss, Xs and 3s, I can stop counting the empty trucks heading back south bound on I5:)

In the mean time, we saw four Ss, Xs and maybe one 3 running wild. The chaos of it all:)

Have a good weekend all. Monday is another day, so far:)

Look at the actual twitter thread. It was started by an owner asking if they could do something like this, and there are tons of replies by both individual owners and enthusiast clubs saying they’re volunteering.

I’m sure both shorts and the press will spin this as a negative, but this is pure brand loyalty and enthusiasm.

Going to be called cynical again (hehe), but the original question was a plant. That's just how social media works these days.

I’m pretty sure the original question was not a ‘plant’. There are owner/investors out there wanting to help wherever they can. In fact, I volunteered straight to Tesla and Elon’s Twitter back in July when I saw the delivery bottleneck formed for this quarter. Unfortunately my Twitter doesn’t have a check mark and very few followers so I knew it would be hard to notice. I appreciate a good cynical view on things but I believe you are incorrect on this one.

So this Ryan dude offered help, it wasn't Elon asking for it, but Elon accepted, then made a call out to others - "build it and they will come", I expect a lot of people reporting for duty!

And what's cool is that these people will wear this effort as a badge go honour. I think it's utterly fabulous.

I'm not so keen about the free supercharging returning, that looks a bit lame to me, also the apparent lack of priority for reservation holders isn't great from a PR pov. HOWEVER, I see the logic that we need this extra push this quarter not to become profitable, but to become very profitable. Assuming that M3 production stabilises at a good rate, the profits going forwards will come without resorting to these tactics.

My only fear is that WS and the shorty shorts will just use this a FUD fodder and claim any profit is a false construction.

I'm finding this page quite interesting to follow, predictions seem a lot better that those bloody analysts... Not that I'm going to trade any shares, but still fun to watch: TSLA - TESLA

"Bullish Engulfing" - sounds like a good Twitter handle...

I love that there are so many willing to volunteer their time, but, let's be realistic, this is almost guaranteed to cause a lot of confusion and even more nightmarish parking for such a big sales push, if they try to converge on the actual delivery centers.

With a bit of pre-planning this could have however been rather clever - arrange to have the various owner groups / etc get permission to host meetups at nearby mall parking lots or whatever, print up a bunch of flyers to give to the new owners and basically get all those new Tesla owners out the door with the bare minimum of instructing they need to get to the nearest meetup and let the fans do the rest.
