I truly do not need to worry about this, but my thoughts turned to March 2019 when my Model S will be due to have an MoT test.

I wonder what they will test, will it be after 4 years by then?

Lights, tyres, brakes, seat belts, airbags, safety equipment?

They can't test emissions, oil, clutch, gearbox, engine,

I suppose I have answered my own question.

Yes, I know this is an ancient post but the thread has just bounced back so I took a look. The answer here is actually that the MOT never had anything to do with oil, clutch, gearbox or engine (other than perhaps for obvious fluid leaks). Exhaust and emissions issuing from it but not specifically the engine. So the MOT covers all the same things as any other car other than for the emissions and exhaust system check.
