Unlock On Park

In the Vehicle settings for my Model S, I've always set the 'Unlock On Park' feature to the OFF position. This means that when I put the car in Park, it should stay locked until I open the driver's door, right? But that isn't what happens. For 2 years now, every time I put the car in Park, it unlocks. I mentioned it when I took the car in for a new tire last week, but the service department didn't get to it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Might have to do with how you are putting the car in park.

With my S one click on the button on the end of the stalk used to choose "gears" puts the car in park but leaves the doors locked. A second click unlocks the doors.

Thank you! This was the problem. I'd never noticed that a light touch on the button that puts the car in 'Park' would leave the doors locked while a heavier touch on the button would both put the car in 'Park' *and* unlock the doors.
