Same here, mostly. While I'm not getting a USB error and a sentry notification appeared on my screen this morning, there's no camera depicted on the screen and tapping on the sentry alert did not open the viewer as it would normally. It's a shame that bug reports aren't read by Tesla...I didn't have to wait long. Drive worked fine yesterday but this morning camera icon disappeared from screen. A few minutes later got USB Device Malfunction error. Could not format drive from car. On my computer the drive appears normal. Tried brand new USB drive got USB Device Malfunction error. Tried to format from car. It formatted drive but didn't create a TeslaCam folder continued to display USB Device Malfunction error.
I've wondered if my problem is old modules. I have latest MCU but since my car is 2018 Model 3 I've wondered if my USB or something outside the MCU is not behaving.Same here, mostly. I have a 2019 SR+ and the nearest service center is well over an hour away.I've wondered if my problem is old modules. I have latest MCU but since my car is 2018 Model 3 I've wondered if my USB or something outside the MCU is not behaving.
What year is your 3?
What I want is for the local service centers to escalate their unsolvable issues up the ladder.
Where is your post?In a related thread, I just posted about how FAT32 no longer seems to be supported. 3 software updates ago by SSD was shown to have file corruption in the Tesla OS. Reformatted to FAT32, same issue. Then formatted to exFAT, and now it works.
Where is your post?
Is your drive formatted as FAT32 or exFAT?I just updated 2021.24.10. I unplugged the USB drive before installing update. USB Drive Malfunction returned. Tried brand new USB drive same error!
Tesla formats it in exfat and in the process names the drive "Tesladrive".exFat when I format it on the PC. I don't know how Tesla formats a drive. Either way all the drives I've tried fail.
Three brand new drives formatted on PC and in the car all fail.
