I was surprised that there are similar weight between 60 and 85kwh.

Sounds about right. By comparison, this year the roadster is HK$744 ($630 license, $114 TAVA).

Petrol ICE cars are HK$3,929 to HK$11,329 (depending on cylinder capacity).

EVs are currently priced at HK$440 (plus HK$30 TAVA) for first tonne, then HK$95 for each extra 250kg (plus 35% of annual TAVA rate).

Annual TAVA fee is currently HK$114 for EVs.

This is good news.

The bad news is the repeated delivery delays means I have to renew my ICE license again. I am looking forward to the much lower rates next year.

One nice thing in HK is the option to renew for 3 months (and 3 months, and 3 months, come on Tesla!).

Are you sure the above amount of $1,112 for Model S is correct?

After checking Tesla website all model Ss are < 2,250kg, therefore based on the calculation below I understand it should be $1,029

$440 for first 1000kg
$475 for next 1,250kg (5 x $95)
$114 TAVA fund (what ever that is?)
$1,029 Total

Note : An extra $95 would get you to the $1,112 quoted in the initial post
