For plugging into a dryer outlet to charge at a relative's house or vacation rental, etc. in some parts of the country dryers are in garages
That's why I bought this adapter when I got my car 2+ years ago -- to plug into the dryer outlet at my cabin but I never used it. I needed an extension cord to reach the dryer outlet and I made a light weight one that fits both 14-30 and 14-50 outlets by simply by removing the prong Tesla doesn't use on this:

I used this cable since it doesn't have the extra wire the Tesla does not use. That makes this cable lighter, less bulkier and easier to use:
6/3 SOOW SO Cord 15 ft HD USA Portable Outdoor Indoor 600 V Flexible Wire cable
And this goes on the other end of the cable to plug the UMC into:

REMEMBER to dial down the amps in your car when you use the extension cord on your dryer outlet - and mark it "TESLA CHARGING ONLY" since it can damage RV's.
I can see buying this adapter if you only have a 14-30 outlet in your garage, but if you're getting it for dryer charging at the cabin, relatives, etc. I'd say your better off making the lightweight extension cord since it's hard to find dryer outlets within the reach of the UMC.
***I don't recommend this to anyone since it's dangerous and wrong and all those things. I'm just saying what I did.
