Tesla — NEMA 14-30
And early too!
Thanks for the head up. Order placed. Any chance of the 6-50 making a return?
You are terrible.... I'll start a new poll.
Ordered. I don't even own a car yet, but I am not letting this one pass me by just in case. Thanks OP!
Thanks for the hint! Order is placed
Thanks for the heads up! Maybe the Tesla will go on our Maine camping trip this fall.
Tt-30 adapter FTW.
Nice. Do they charge for shipping from the website? I tried calling my nearest Tesla store parts department to see if the have any in stock and got their voice mail.
Thanks I just placed my order!
Yes they definitely charge shipping on their orders. There also does not seem to be a dollar amount that they waive shipping at.
$45. Another option that I did was the "universal" extension chord from EVSE Adapters. It is a 20 ft extension chord that fits 14-50, 14-30, and 14-60 plugs without any adapters for $90 (Heavy-duty NEMA 14-50 extension cord for Tesla, 20 ft. - EVSEadapters.com).
Just got a reply e-mail from my Delivery Specialist and she says they don't have any in Rocklin.
Ordered mine just now. Thanks again.
Got another e-mail that she talked to the parts person and ordered one specifically for me and will give me a call when it's in.
Good now we need the 10-30 back, the 6-50 back, and then a TT-30 for the cherry on top.
Dammit! I got a big clunky Camco adapter which works fine, but it's huge. And I'm not willing to spend more for Tesla's poor inventory strategy!
Three yups! ! !
Why would I want this over a 14-50?
For plugging into a dryer outlet to charge at a relative's house or vacation rental, etc. in some parts of the country dryers are in garages
Totally makes sense, I completely overlooked a remote charging use case. Thanks!
Some folks may not have the capacity for a 14-50 50A circuit in their load center.
