Just back from a 52 mile drive in the country. Wow!
My 55kWh LFP RWD Model 3 car is so gorgeous, windows down, air-con off and music blaring. It's just the best car I've ever owned. Cruising through the bends, applying power on the apex, pushing on, so quiet yet so smooth! It's almost as good as when I had a motorbike when I was a teenager.
Well, when I was 21, I had a 4-speed mini. It would wear out front tyres every 5K miles and need a new fan belt at the same time. Going above 70 was only possible down hill... And music came out of a small crappy speaker, along with electrical interference from the engines ignition. If only, I could be 21 again and have this car, wouldn't life have been great! Still, it's great to be able to have this experience now, even though I'm approaching my 70th birthday...
Looking at the Highland refresh; there is nothing it has, that I really want or need. My car is really quite except when on crappy tarmac roads. I don't need a screen in the back and I'm no need of ambient lighting to shine in the windscreen. My music plays great to my ears, and the car is certainly fast enough for me. I would possibly like the vented seats but on the other hand my air-con works really well. Plus, I like my USS and stalks, so I think I will be keeping this car for some years yet...
And the icing on the cake; The car averaged 182 Wh/mile, to have this wonderful drive, on this pleasant sunny day. So total cost only around 85 pence!
