Western PA Fall Foliage Poker Run

An invitation to come drive about 90 miles on electric power together for fun!

Who: EV drivers (BEV and PHEV), bring passengers

What: Fall peak foliage drive encouraging EV drivers to get out and drive their cars together. Led by the Tesla Pittsburgh group, hosted by me, with a poker run and prizes at the conclusion. All in attendance can pick up a card and win prizes.

When: Saturday October 13th, 2018 at 2 pm to about 4 pm EST

Where: North of Pittsburgh, PA, starting at the Franklin Park Supercharger and finishing at Moraine State Park

Why: Driving an EV is fun! Encourage EV owners of all makes to get together to enjoy our cars, talk and share a beautiful drive together.

Start at the Franklin Park Supercharger near Franklin, PA, see map screenshot below.



Finish at the beautiful Moraine State Park where the leaves should be in peak color for 2018!





There’s a Cars and Coffee event near Cranberry, PA in the morning on Oct 13th as well.

I’ll be driving on the 13th rain or shine. Sun would be a plus for fantastic group pictures.

Wear EV specific outerwear such as a windbreaker. Let’s have fun with this!

Prizes are ready. Putting the finishing touches on the route and then I’ll drive it one more time.

Looking like we have 20 drivers so far, with at least 10 more tentative. This should be a fun low key event!

With the temperatures dropping the leaves are changing. All EVs and PHEVs are invited. So far we have a couple Volts joining the Teslas.

Got the route confirmed. I’ll drive it again before Saturday to confirm the roads are all open.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone that has confirmed.

So far we have 15 going, 14 tentative.

Mostly Teslas, one confirmed Volt.

Be ready to depart at 2 pm from the Sheetz, Tesla Supercharger, Franklin Park, PA. There will be a five minute driver’s meeting to discuss the first stop and Poker Run protocol.

No fee. Drive for fun. Six nice prizes at the end!

Excellent, glad you're getting out there with the Eastern PA peeps. Advertise on social media and post pictures. The more we get out and enjoy our cars the better. Driving electric is amazing, mixing it with nature's best is worth celebrating!

Woohoo! We’ve got a fun Saturday afternoon planned. The route is a fun drive and the leaves are really starting to brighten up.

I’ll see everyone charged and ready. I’ll be at the Franklin PA Supercharger by 1:30 pm.

Recommend at least charging to 150 “miles” before arriving. Show early if you think you’ll need to charge, there’s 21 cars registered and 11 tentative.
