Last time I purchased my Jeep Grand Cherokee there was a $35 charge on the Maroney sticker for 10 gallons of delivery gas. That is what I got. Less than 1/2 tank.

So many times, when taking a demo ride it was like a Seinfeld episode, where we were worried about being able to get back to the dealership without running out of gas. Fuel indicator usually below the empty mark.

Saying this, I think all Tesla should come with their batteries filled to 80%. Healthy for the battery and that last few % ties up the chargers longer than necessary.

One of the joys of Tesla ownership is the first experience at a local Supercharger.

I had lots of anxiety when picking up mine. So many of those concerns went away when I first used the display and up popped all the available Superchargers on my route back to San Diego.

I've got no problem with having it waiting for me with an 80% charge. That's totally reasonable to protect battery life and still give a good range to the new owner.

As far as the joys of ownership, Supercharging? Hey, whatever makes you happy.

I took delivery on Friday and it went flawless. I was there 15mins before my appointment and it took them about 45mins to call us. To be fair, they informed us that the previous customers are taking a bit long to inspect their cars, so it would be a little late for our turn. It took about 30mins for my inspection and orientation. Another 5mins for documentation and then we were out. My car was charged full (I had requested the previous day to fill it up since we had a long drive back). As part of orientation they setup the home address and also added a supercharger along the way. Oh by the way, we were not able to find any flaws with the car.

My delivery appointment was at 11:30 AM; we arrived at 11 and I went ahead and checked in. Found my car outside near the entrance while waiting for the walk-through. I walked around it several times and found nothing wrong. Delivery specialist met me right at my original appointment time; I was on the road heading for my favorite Dallas restaurant for lunch, aptly named "Celebration", 30 minutes later.

We're about an hour away from the Fremont factory. Our appointment was 9:30 am on a Friday, just at rush hour, so we left 2 hours before the appointment. Turned out there was no traffic. We got there an hour early. Checked in anyway and they sent us out to look at the car which was already parked outside. After about 10 minutes someone was there to help us. Answered my questions about the car and we went inside to sign the papers. Paperwork took about another 10 minutes. I used to sell cars and this process blew me away. You don't wait to go to the finance department and be offered extra stuff you have to say no to and sign no to. I did the Tesla financing and had no trade-in.
