Where are VIN numbers now?

I got my 211xxx VIN today. I have LR AWD + FSD. Does having an older VIN mean that it is not HW3? Can FSD model be without HW3?

Congrats! It’s not necessarily VIN specific, but here’s the test; see if you can enable Autopilot’s lane change without confirmation feature. If you can turn it on, you have HW 2.5.

I also have a 211xxx VIN (LR AWD Pearl White, Black interior, 18” wheels, FSD) that I picked up April 19th. Built in early April, but has HW 2.5. Likely very similar configs.

You can’t. The 8th digit from the right (J for 2018; K for 2019) tells you the year.

Build month/year are on the sticker on the driver’s door jamb.
