Its the old shape so probably an adaptor or are there any cables people can recommend? If it's one of the newer leafs (the second generation from around 2017) then it uses the same cable (type 2 cable) for home charging. If it's one of the older ones, those use type 1 cables & you would need an adapter.
I was told my Tesla Manchester where I had a test drive that the cars now only come with a 3 pin plug charger which will take almost forever to charge the car.You use the cable that comes with the car. Your charger will have a type 2 already at the charger end.
That is contrary to their official charge cables page on the website. Still says that all new models come with the TMC and a type 2 cable.I was told my Tesla Manchester where I had a test drive that the cars now only come with a 3 pin plug charger which will take almost forever to charge the car.
I would be very surprised if the car was not supplied with a Type 2 cable as you are more likely to use that one than the "granny" charge lead.I was told my Tesla Manchester where I had a test drive that the cars now only come with a 3 pin plug charger which will take almost forever to charge the car.
If your type 1 lead is tethered i.e. hard wired to the wall point, your best fix is to purchase a new cable and Type 2 plug and ask an electrician to change it. Should only take half an hour.I currently charge my Leaf on a Podpoint at home but what cable do I need to charge my M3 when it arrives or can I buy an adaptor for my current charger?
Any links / recommendations appreciated.
Thanks for that. Do you have a link to the page? That is contrary to their official charge cables page on the website. Still says that all new models come with the TMC and a type 2 cable.
Its not hard wired as I take the cable with me on the off chance one of the free chargers where I'm currently working are available, and today they are.If your type 1 lead is tethered i.e. hard wired to the wall point, your best fix is to purchase a new cable and Type 2 plug and ask an electrician to change it. There are many companies on the web that sell them.

I picked my car up last Tuesday and it had a both the granny charger and a 5 meter type 2 cableI was told my Tesla Manchester where I had a test drive that the cars now only come with a 3 pin plug charger which will take almost forever to charge the car.
