I was able to call and change my order today for $1,500 for the white seats. They reported there would not be a $500 change fee since I do not yet have a v i n. I requested a vegan steering wheel if it will not affect my delivery date. They asked me to work with my delivery specialist to keep the free Wi-Fi connectivity. I am so happy I am getting the white seats

That's nice. I am on hold right now with Tesla: Estimated wait time is 1 hour. Oh, and I'm still waiting for a 48 call from a specialist.

An update: After waiting on hold for 54 minutes, I was able to update my configuration to include the Premium White Interior. They sent me an email which I filled out with my request and sent back. While on the phone, the Specialist retrieved my email response and entered it into the system. Someone still has to manually do another update they said, but I got a reference number, which is suppose to help them track my request.

Any suggestions on how to do this without incurring change fee?

Make your case that you're increasing their margin with this change but you don't feel it is worth $2000 so won't get the option without the fee waived.

Then follow through either way. You want it but not that much. Because even without the white interior it's a great car and you know you'll be happy with it. Believe it.

Thanks for the info araxara. Was placed on hold for about 2 hours before finally getting to speak with a Specialist. I asked to upgrade to white interior and Specialist emailed me for confirmation of what I wanted to change. Now I have to wait for another confirmation email from the order department until the changes are set in stone.

I'm sooooo glad I checked this thread today! White interior! YESSS! I talked myself into black one because I wasn't ready to pay premium for Performance version and placed the order on 07/08. I was able to update my order online, probably because I haven't got VIN yet.
