This is where the article loses me. No matter how life threatening our environment becomes on earth with climate change, it will still be more hospitable than the climate on Mars is to humans.

Having said that, I will add: it's really too bad that Elon Musk isn't the PE rather than Donald Trump!

Trump should look into the simple fact (not create his own reality) that Tesla turned out to be a major export success, with a halo effect on the whole industry that looks at Next-Gen personal mobility more creatively than the Big Three have been doing so far. Detroit is not only unable to compete on export markets, but has also lost ground to foreign brands on its own home turf. Perhaps someone should tell him that.
